OPERATIONS

OPERATIONS Gabon Mining IndustryGH Mining being in the mining industry for over a decade is able to utilize the skills and experience to manage and efficiently operate the mine. Also, being in the commodity trading business for over a decade we have been able to utilize our large presence in a variety of different markets and locations to aid in procuring high volume sales of Manganese ore and several other commodities. GH Mining has established as one of the most reliable and efficient providers of manganese ore in the region. The mine is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and uses both open-pit and underground methods to extract ore. GH Mining has also set up their own processing facilities on site to ensure consistent quality and remove impurities. We have successfully been able to establish ourself by becoming a major supplier of manganese ore and chrome ore in the world. Our reputation for reliability and consistent quality has made us a preferred supplier to many customers in the steel and aluminum industries. We are committed to sustainable mining practices, and have implemented a number of measures to minimize the environmental impact of its operations. For example, we are energy-efficient equipment and recycling processes to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and water usage. Additionally, we have implemented a rehabilitation program for the land affected by mining activities, to ensure that the environment is restored to its natural state once mining operations have been completed.

COMMUNITY

We are also committed to the development of the local community and are a major employer in the region, providing jobs for hundreds of local residents directly as well as indirectly. We provide training and development opportunities for our employees and promote diversity and inclusion in the workplace

APPROACH

The biodiversity issues for each of our projects or operations can vary greatly, as do the opportunities for minimizing negative impacts and creating positive outcomes. Our biodiversity strategy and NPI goal provide us with both a performance target (achieving regional conservation gains) and the tools to help balance the potentially conflicting actions of resource extraction and biodiversity conservation.    A Group-wide biodiversity values assessment protocol This assesses the biodiversity values of our land holdings and surrounding areas to help prioritise action.  A biodiversity action planning tool This helps operations understand and plan for the biodiversity features of the areas in which they operate and the values placed on those features.  An NPI accounting and offset design methodology Following a number of internal pilots and external consultation, we have developed an offset design methodology to help businesses plan and implement offset programmers.

EVIRONMENT

Respect for the environment is central to our approach to sustainable development. Wherever possible we prevent, or otherwise minimize, mitigate and remediate, harmful effects of the Group’s operations on the environment. We have developed a number of practical programmers for environmental management, which include input from our local communities, as well as from experts in these fields.

CONCLUSION

We are committed with providing our customers with high-quality products while also being responsible corporate citizens. We are constantly striving to improve and innovate in order to meet the demands of a rapidly changing world and also make an important contribution to local and world economy.
