Iron Ore Project
The Fatao Iron Ore Project in Kayes Province, Mali, covers 46 km² of mapped terrain with strong magnetite mineralization confirmed across 21 km². Geological surveys, pit/trench sampling, and mapping validate persistent iron ore at depth and extensive surface exposure. With favorable topography, climate, and accessibility, the project holds over 18 million tonnes of early-stage resources and is fully viable for open-pit development.
- Exploration Area: 46 km² surveyed
- High-Potential Zones: 21 km² identified for detailed exploration
- Commodity: Magnetite-rich Iron Ore
- Ore Characteristics: Large surface magnetite boulders, high-density iron-rich blocks
- Geological Setting: Proterozoic Taoudeni Basin – sandstones, gneiss, schist, quartzite & dolerite intrusions
- Topography: Rolling plains and small hills (200–300 m elevation)
- Survey Methods: Geological mapping, pitting, trenching, sample analysis, magnetometer surveys
- Exploration Work Completed: 4 pits + 6 trenches confirming depth continuity of magnetite ore
- Ore Continuity: Magnetite persists below surface; not just float material
- Estimated Resource Potential: +18 million tonnes of iron ore (early-stage estimate)
- Mining Method: Open-pit extraction of outcropping & near-surface magnetite
- Accessibility: Good regional access from Diema & Kayes, suitable mining terrain
- Project Stage: Reconnaissance completed and confirmed feasible; ready for next-stage drilling & evaluation
